Alpha King himself sent me to summon Elena to the palace immediately!" Jax roared at the warrior. "Get out! She's staying here to serve Ivy during recovery. The more important Marcus was to the King, the more terrifying the King's rage would be. Ivy caught my expression and said. "Darling, stop. Elena is already upset about serving me. Don't make her angrier." Jax kicked me hard in the leg. "Stop making faces at Ivy. I accpted you as my mate just because Ivy wouldn't be abused as a mistress." "You come from trash, but act like royalty." I stumbled backward from the kick. The glass vial slipped from my sleeve and shattered on the ground. The Powder spilled everywhere. Now, even if the Moon Goddess herself descended, Alpha Marcus couldn't be saved.

My nails dug into my palms. I asked coldly, "Jax, I'm your mate. Aren't you afraid the Alpha King will punish you for disrespecting me like this?" He laughed like it was the funniest joke he'd ever heard. "If Ivy's family hadn't fallen, you'd never have been my mate." Of course. Back then, Jax pursued me relentlessly. He stood outside my house every day, sent endless gifts. I thought he truly loved me. After the mating ceremony, I understood. He only chose me because Ivy's father was executed for treason. She couldn't be the Alpha's mate. And I looked easy to control. I wouldn't hurt his precious Ivy. Right on cue, Ivy's tears fell. "Don't say that, darling. Elena is your true mate. Even our pup is just an illegitimate child. I'm so scared..." Jax wiped her tears, his voice tender. "You're the only mate in my heart. What are you afraid of?" Ivy looked up at him pitifully. He bent down and picked up the largest piece of broken glass. I backed away instinctively, but Jax grabbed my wrist. Ivy sobbed softly, but her eyes gleamed with anticipation. I couldn't believe it. "Jax, what are you doing?!" His grip tightened, crushing my wrist bone. I struggled, but how could a woman overpower a trained Alpha? He raised his hand. The pain exploded across my face. Hot blood poured down my neck, staining my clothes. Jax carved a long gash across my face, then threw the glass aside. He released my hand like I was filth. He pulled Ivy close, his tone casual. "Feel better now?"
